Troop 19 of the Chester County Council officially became one of the nation's first female Scouts BSA troops on February 1, 2019.
Prior to that, operating as a BSA Explorer Club between June 2018 and February 2019, we visited five states, three National Parks, and two scout reservations -- camping once a month and engaging in monthly service projects, weekly meetings, and staffing two major Cub Scout events.
We have chosen “19” as our unit number to memorialize the year we became a troop. Also, the 19th Amendment gave women the right to vote so it signifies a movement forward for female inclusion as well!
We celebrated our first day by completing our first rank, earning the Scout Badge just prior to our New Unit Induction and Court of Honor ceremony at our sponsoring organization, the Marshallton United Methodist Church in West Chester, PA.
We are in the Horseshoe Trail District of the Chester County Council BSA.
Troop 19's chartering organization is the Marshallton United Methodist Church.
Troop 52's committee and scouters provide support to us, their sister troop.
